HUDDERSFIELD have placed a £17million price tag on midfielder Philip Billing, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Cherries retain an interest in the 23-year-old, but the Daily Echo understands that no deal is yet close to being reached with the Terriers.

Denmark under-21international Billing joined Huddersfield initially on a youth contract in 2013 and has made 91 appearances for the first team, including 43 in the Premier League.

But Billing's relationship with Terriers has turned sour in recent months with the Huddersfield Examiner reporting that the club's new owner Phil Hodgkinson said Billing "won't be involved in the first team at Huddersfield Town football club while I'm here".

The midfielder has been given no squad number for the upcoming campaign and is believed to be training with Huddersfield's academy.

In an interview with Danish publication Bold.dk in May, Billing criticised head coach Jan Siewert, calling him "arrogant" and "a little strange".

Billing netted two goals in the Premier League last season and played three times for Denmark at the under-21 European Championship in the summer, but has not featured for Huddersfield since mid-March.
