ADAM Murry believes the importance Eddie Howe places on developing youngsters is one of his big qualities as Cherries boss.
Murry, who handed the managerial reins to Howe in 2009, has recently returned to English football as the new owner of Yeovil Town Women.
And having seen Howe guide Cherries from League Two into a fifth Premier League season, Murry was full of praise for the job he and assistant boss Jason Tindall have done at Vitality Stadium.
Murry told the Daily Echo: “You’ve got a great team there from the CEO, right the way through.
“Eddie’s an incredible guy, as is Jason. Two people who have always remained humble right the way through and are extremely good at their jobs.
“That’s one thing I think Eddie does, take the academy side of things seriously. And it’s difficult to do that in the Premier League now because you’re as good as your last five games.
“The head coach can’t spend an awful lot of time overseeing and looking at the academy and what developments are coming through that, but the structure they have in place, alongside the management and coaching staff, together with the new plans, is very exciting for this great club.
“I think Eddie does pay attention to that and that’s one of the qualities he has as well. He’s obviously focused fully on the first team, but he takes the academy side very seriously also, because that’s where your developing players come through.”
