CHERRIES midfielder Emerson Hyndman has sealed a return to his homeland after finalising a six-month loan deal with Atlanta United.

The 23-year-old will feature for the MLS champions for the remainder of their season – Atlanta will then have the option to buy him.

Hyndman joined Eddie Howe’s men on a four-year deal in the summer of 2016 and has since gone on to make eight first-team appearances.

His most recent came in the Premier League back in April as a substitute for Dan Gosling after 53 minutes at Southampton.

Texan Hyndman has also had loan spells with Scottish Premiership outfits Rangers and Hibernian during his time with Cherries.

Atlanta vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra told their club website: “We’re excited to bring a talented young player like Emerson in to bolster our midfield.

“In addition to his technical, on-the-ball abilities, he performed well in two physically-demanding leagues.”
