ASTON Villa have joined Cherries "in the chase" for Jack Butland, according to Sky Sports.
Cherries have been linked with the England goalkeeper for much of the summer, but are now said to be facing competition from Championship play-off winners Aston Villa.
The 26-year-old still has two years remaining on his contract at Stoke City, who are said to be holding out for £20million for the stopper.
Bristol-born Butland won the Potters' player of the season gong for his performances in 2018-19 as Stoke finished 16th in the second tier.
But Sky claim he is now seeking a move back into the Premier League, or abroad, to improve his chances of adding to his nine England caps.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph also claim Villa are battling Cherries for Butland in a deal they say is worth £25million, with the Dorset club said to be "poised to step up their interest with an official bid".
Cherries have four first-team goalkeepers in their squad in Artur Boruc, Asmir Begovic, Mark Travers and Aaron Ramsdale.
