RYAN Fraser said facing Belgium, the number one ranked side in the world, had been "a learning curve" as the Cherries winger finally brought his season to a close.

The 25-year-old began the game in Brussels on the bench for Scotland, but replaced Southampton's Stuart Armstrong during the first half.

The game remained goalless until first-half stoppage time when Real Madrid new-boy Eden Hazard, the only man to provide more Premier League assists in 2018-19 than Fraser, teed up Man Utd's Romelu Lukaku to head in.

Lukaku doubled the tally 12 minutes after the restart before Kevin De Bruyne sealed a 3-0 win late on.

Fraser, who ends the campaign having played 48 games for club and country, told STV: "It was a learning curve. Coming up against number one in the world is never easy and we did get shown a footballing lesson, I am not going to lie.

"But at the same time, maybe in the last couple of years we might have been beaten by a far bigger scoreline and looked a little bit more shaky.

"We have to take the positives and build on it."
