An image said to have 'leaked' the opening round of Premier League fixtures is believed to be fake.

The 2019-20 schedule is due to be officially released at 9am tomorrow morning under strict embargo, when Cherries will find out when their 38 matches will be played.

But a photo was today circulating across social media which claimed to feature the first weekend of games.

According to the image, Cherries are set to start with a home game against newly-promoted Sheffield United while the top-flight campaign is due to launch with Tottenham against Norwich, live on Sky Sports on Saturday afternoon.

Bournemouth Echo:

However, not only have recent years seen the season start on a Friday night, but television companies also do not confirm their selections until after the list has been released to the public.

Sky Sports is also set to start screening matches on Saturday evenings from this season.

The Cherries fixture list will be available on the Daily Echo website tomorrow.
