DORSET continued their supreme Unicorns T20 form with a third successive double-header victory, writes Neil Walton.

Luke Webb’s men sealed a pair of triumphs over Cornwall at the Leaze.

Key to preserving their unbeaten record was a deadly bowling display as first Brad Currie and then Jigar Naik, shone with the ball.

In the opening encounter, Max Waller's 36 not out had helped Dorset scramble to a total of 125 for five after Tom Dinnis impressed with three for 21.

Defending a target narrowly in excess of a run-a-ball, Currie (2-14) proved miserly from his four overs as Cornwall fell 21 runs short with 104 for seven – Naik snared three for 38.

Dorset's improved batting display in the second contest, led by Sam Young (52) and Alex Eckland (37), set the platform for an imposing total of 156 for seven.

In-form Currie (2-22) removed openers James Turpin (1) and Matthew Robins (12) before Naik claimed a dazzling four for 10 from 18 balls, as all Cornwall's batsmen were out caught in making 104 all out – a deficit of 52 runs.

Dorset can seal qualification to finals day with a single victory at Wiltshire in their next double-header this Sunday.
