CHERRIES have asked to be “kept in the loop” about Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull, according to the Daily Record.

The 19-year-old is also reported to have attracted interest from the likes of Celtic and Barnsley.

Turnbull scored 15 goals at first-team level for the Fir Park outfit this season – the teenager made his senior debut against Dundee in the Scottish Cup in February 2018.

Born in Carluke, Turnbull won the Scottish Football Writers' Association Young Player of the Year award for 2019.

Former winners of that prize include Kieran Tierney, Scott Brown and James Forrest.

The Daily Record also claim Derby, Wigan and Bristol City have also “lodged their interest” in the youngster, who has played twice for Scotland under-21s.
