DARREN Anderton described Cherries as "the perfect club" for David Brooks and insisted: "There is no reason for him to move on now."
Talented winger Brooks is reportedly on Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino's radar.
A report in The Sun claims Spurs are considering an £80million move for Brooks and team-mate Callum Wilson.
The 21-year-old Wales international, who joined Cherries last summer from Sheffield United for an initial fee understood to be £10million, enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League, netting seven goals and five assists.
Asked if he felt a move to Tottenham was right for Brooks, former Cherries star Anderton told the Daily Echo: "Possibly but I think there is no reason for him to move on now.
"Bournemouth is the perfect club for him."
Discussing Brooks's abilities, the Tottenham legend and England international added: "He is different class. He has real quality. He has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.
"He was a great find and he is going to have a great career."
