NNAMDI Ofoborh's under-20 World Cup came to an end as Nigeria lost 2-1 against West African neighbours Senegal in the round of 16.

The Cherries midfielder started in midfield for the Flying Eagles but could not prevent them conceding twice before the break as Amadou Sagna and Ibrahima Niane found the net.

Nigeria rallied after the restart in Lodz, quickly pulling one back when Success Makanjuola's free-kick deflected in off team-mate Aniekeme Okon.

Ofoborh, 19, was replaced after 70 minutes but Nigeria could not find an equaliser with missed chances costing them a place in the quarter-finals as the Lions progressed.

Nigeria won one, drew one and lost two of their four games in Poland with Ofoborh featuring three times.

Also in international action was Jefferson Lerma.

The Cherries ace was introduced at half-time of Colombia's friendly against Panama in Bogota as they stepped up their preparations for the upcoming Copa America.

Carlos Queiroz's side were already 3-0 ahead by Lerma's arrival thanks to strikes from William Tesillo, Luis Muriel and Radamel Falcao.

The second half passed goalless as Colombia ran out comfortable winners.

Meanwhile, Cherries loanee Brad Smith has been called up to the Australia squad for Friday's friendly against South Korea.

The left-back, who is currently at MLS side Seattle Sounders, will hope to make his first Socceroos appearance since October 2017.
