CALEB Rowe’s unbeaten 60 failed to save Broadstone succumbing to a convincing six-wicket defeat to Dorset Premier League rivals Sherborne.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first at Delph Woods, the hosts had slumped to 116 for eight before Rowe sparked a recovery to 180 all out.

His blistering innings came from just 32 deliveries, including six fours and four sixes.

Visiting bowlers Shane Pulling (4-23) and Emlyn Kuhn (4-33) did the most damage for Sherborne.

And they confidently reached their victory target with more than 15 overs to spare.

Opener Josh Lawrence scored an unbeaten 106 from just 95 deliveries. Rowe (2-39) was also the pick of the hosts’ bowlers.

Broadstone have picked up two wins from four completed fixtures this season.

They sit eighth in the table with 61 points.
