PIRATES star Richie Worrall booked his place in this year’s British final after finishing second in the semi-final at Redcar.
The Merseysider totalled 13 points across the meeting to earn his spot in the top six of the individual event.
Home favourite Charles Wright led the qualifiers.
Wright, who also races for Premiership club Peterborough, finished on 14 points and was joined on the rostrum by Worrall (13) and Danny Ayres (12).
The remaining six qualifiers for the final at Belle Vue in July were Paul Starke, Lewis Kerr and Richie’s brother Steve Worrall.
Meanwhile, Kyle Howarth (shoulder) and Jason Garrity (arm) were withdrawn from the meeting following a crash in heat one.
