CHERRIES are "plotting a £10million swoop" for Swansea City's Connor Roberts, according to a report in The Sun.

The national publication claims the Dorset club have been impressed by the right-back while assessing team-mate and sought-after talent Daniel James.

The report suggests Cherries boss Eddie Howe is "set to launch an initial £10m bid" for Roberts.

Wales international Roberts featured in 49 games for the Swans this season, alongside six appearances for his country.

The 23-year-old made his Swansea debut in the second half of the 2017-18 campaign after a successful season-long loan at Yeovil Town and a handful of games in spells at Bristol Rovers and Middlesbrough.

Howe's squad currently includes two right-backs with captain Simon Francis, who is still on the recovery trail from a serious knee injury sustained in December, and the versatile Adam Smith.

England international Nathaniel Clyne has returned to Liverpool after his January loan move to Vitality Stadium.
