NNAMDI Ofoborh says he will be “living the dream” when competing at the FIFA under-20 World Cup this summer.

The Cherries midfielder, 19, is part of the Nigeria squad out in Poland which will get their campaign underway today against Qatar (5pm).

Group games against USA and Ukraine follow for Paul Aigbogun’s side, all in the space of a week, and Ofoborh is relishing the chance to come up against some of the world’s best in his age group.

He told the club’s website: “We play a lot of games with Bournemouth, but they don’t have the stature of the World Cup. The competition is probably the biggest stage you can get in football.

“I’m buzzing. I’m just really happy to have this opportunity and hopefully I can do my best in front of the whole world.”

He added: “It’s all a bit new to me, as it is for everyone. I have great support from my mum and dad and a couple of friends. They're hoping to come out (to Poland), which will be brilliant.

“I’m used to just playing one game a week so being in that tournament schedule, I hope that I can adapt well to three games in six days because it’s a lot.

“I am buzzing for it. I just love playing football so I’ll be living the dream.”
