CO-PROMOTER Danny Ford insisted Pirates would have a “point to prove” when they make the trip to King’s Lynn in the Supporters’ Cup tomorrow (7.30pm).

Hammered 52-38 at Ipswich on Thursday, Poole remain bottom of the southern group knowing only two wins would give them any chance of progressing to the final.

Poole are set to welcome back Brady Kurtz and Nicolai Klindt to their septet – team boss Neil Middleditch also resumes his duties after being unavailable for the clash with the Witches.

Ford told the Daily Echo: “Because speedway is a performance-based sport, the boys will know they have to go out there and score some points.

“They will all be giving it their absolute best and, after the disappointment at Ipswich, they will go out there having a point to prove.

“Brady scored three in Sweden the other night but it was his first one back since he had that little knock. I probably wasn’t expecting him to go out there and completely hit the ground running.

“But I am sure he will be ready and raring to go and hopefully he can step up and get straight back in scoring those big points again.”
