CHERRIES are “set to offer £15million for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope” according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The publication claims the Dorset club are ready to follow up their capture of defender Lloyd Kelly with a bid for the England international.

The report insists landing a goalkeeper is “another of Howe's summer priorities” and that he has been closely assessing Burnley ace Pope, 27, as well as Stoke’s Jack Butland.

Pope, a member of England’s 2018 World Cup squad, suffered a shoulder injury against Aberdeen last summer which limited his game time at Turf Moor.

He played in FA Cup contests against Barnsley and Manchester City but found himself behind the Tom Heaton and Joe Hart in the pecking order.

The Mail claim Pope “will be allowed to move on for first-team football this summer”.
