Scott Nicholls will once again pull on a Pirates race jacket when Poole travel to Ipswich tomorrow.

The former Grand Prix star stepped in to replace injured Brady Kurtz as Pirates edged past the Witches 46-44 at Wimborne Road last week, bagging an 11-point score and joining Josh Grajczonek for a heat 15 5-1 to snatch the win.

And as the two sides prepare to face for a second time in the Supporters’ Cup Southern Group at Foxhall, co-promoter Danny Ford confirmed Nicholls would replace Kurtz again.

Although the Aussie has recovered from injury, he is set to ride for Vetlanda in the Swedish league.

Nicolai Klindt also misses out on the trip to Suffolk as he will be racing against Kurtz for Lejonen.

Tobiasz Musielak has agreed to fly in from Poland to race in place of the Dane.

Ford said: “Unfortunately, despite Thursdays being our set race night, it was agreed that these Swedish fixtures would take precedence over the UK’s Supporters’ Cup competition.

“But while that ruling leaves us without two of our riders, we are extremely grateful to Scott and Tobiasz for stepping in.

“Scott was superb last week at Wimborne Road and I’m sure he and Tobiasz will do a great job as we look to keep this momentum we’re building going.”

The Pirates head to the Witches on the back of two wins against Belle Vue and Ipswich and a battling away draw at the National Speedway Stadium in Manchester.

The hosts, meanwhile, secured an impressive 51-39 Premiership win at Peterborough on Monday night.

Richard Lawson scored nine paid 11 for the Witches, while Jake Allen and Chris Harris totalled nine respectively.

Witches: 1 Chris Harris, 2 Richard Lawson, 3 Danny King 4 David Bellego, 5 Krystian Pieszczek, 6 Cameron Heeps, 7 Jake Allen.

Pirates: 1 Jack Holder, 2 Richie Worrall, 3 Tobiasz Musielak (guest), 4 Josh Grajczonek, 5 Scott Nicholls (guest), 6 Nico Covatti, 7 Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen.
