CHRIS Reeves admits Marvin Brooks and Corby Moore's willingness to re-sign with Poole Town for next season just days into the closed season will serve as encouragement to other players.

In 2018-19, Brooks scored 14 goals in 49 appearances as Dolphins narrowly lost in the Southern League South play-off final against Met Police.

Former Southampton youngster Moore joined Tom Killick's side in September 2016 on a permanent basis after a one-month loan spell in 2015-16.

Chairman Reeves told the Daily Echo: "They are two very key players and I am absolutely delighted they were so keen to commit themselves to the club.

"When you make significant signings it is encouraging for other players and lifts the spirit of the supporters.

"It is great to get this business done so early in the closed season."

Reeves said positive discussions had been held with other members of the squad, as well as potential new signings, with further announcements expected in the coming weeks.

"The second half of the season was brilliant and we feel we have our Poole Town back," said Reeves.

"We have been used to so much success and last season (2017-18) was an unexpected blip.

"There is a real feel-good factor running through the squad and I believe the supporters as well."
