EDDIE Howe insists "there's been no fall out" with Asmir Begovic - but did confirm the Bosnian has been given an extended break from training.

A regular in the first half of the season, Begovic has featured just twice in the Premier League since January with Artur Boruc handed the gloves, as well as Mark Travers earning a debut in goal against Tottenham last time out.

Begovic was not part of the squad which beat Spurs and a report in the Daily Star this week claimed the goalkeeper had been sent on holiday early and told he "no longer had a future" at Cherries.

Discussing the decision to leave Begovic out of the squad, Howe said: "Some of the things that have come out this week have been totally inaccurate.

"We decided to play Mark (Travers) and we rested Asmir.

"He's been given the final week of the season off to spend some extended time with his family.

"But there's nothing malicious or any stories to read into that to say that he's played his last game for Bournemouth.

"Who knows what the summer brings for him and for us, but there's been no fall out and he's still a top professional."
