EDDIE Howe admits he has several injury doubts for Cherries’ final home Premier League fixture of the season against Tottenham Hotspur.

Ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Spurs at Vitality Stadium (12.30pm), the Cherries boss is unsure if Dan Gosling, Dominic Solanke, Adam Smith and David Brooks will be available for selection.

Midfielder Gosling limped off after 53 minutes in the 3-3 draw with Southampton last weekend with a calf complaint, while Solanke suffered a hamstring problem but played on until the final whistle.

Former Sheffield United talent Brooks completed the 90 minutes at St Mary’s, however, he was on the end of a number of heavy challenges during the match, which left him nursing an ankle issue.

Smith has missed the past two games after picking up a knee problem in the warm-up before the 1-0 defeat against Fulham.

Howe said: “We have doubts over Dan Gosling, Dominic Solanke, Adam Smith, David Brooks, so we have stretched resources at the moment.

“But we are trying to look at that as a positive in the respect that we are giving the opportunities to players to see how they perform at this level."

He added: “We are unsure who is going to be fit out of that group.”

Discussing Brooks's injury Howe said: "He was on the end the last week of four or five tackles that affected his ankle.

"He was limping around at the end of the game so I don't think it was any surprise that there was some stiffness in the ankle after the match. We will wait and see whether he is fit."

The Dorset club are definitely without long-term absentees Simon Francis, Lewis Cook, Charlie Daniels, Diego Rico, Andrew Surman and Junior Stanislas.

Asked if the combination of long-term and short-term injuries made preparations difficult, Howe said: “Yes but you have to overcome that and it has been nothing new for us in the second half of the season.

“Since we picked up the long-term knee injuries, with Lewis Cook, Simon Francis, we have been stretched. We have never quite been able to readdress that balance and keep everyone fit.

“That has been one of the challenging parts of the season but let’s look at it as a positive and, hopefully, we go well.”
