NEW Milton III snatched the Dorset & Wilts Three South title after a dramatic 34-22 victory in the final game of the season against rivals Poole – avenging a 75-point defeat from their meeting in September.

Poole needed just a single bonus point from the clash at Milton to clinch top spot, while the New Forest side had to restrict Poole to less than four tries, win by more than seven points and claim a bonus point of their own.

Five tries from Ryan Morrell inspired the New Milton triumph, with fellow centre Sid Anders also dotting down over the whitewash.

Poole touched down both sides of half-time, however their attempt to claim the crucial bonus point fell narrowly short.

The Dorset side added their third try late on but the referee indicated it was the final play of the game to spark jubilant scenes among the Milton players.

Meanwhile, New Milton powered to a 48-5 victory at Tottonians II to finish fifth in Hampshire Premier.

First-half tries from Ali Gunn (2), Rhys Frampton and Chris Conacher, along with a penalty kick from Gunn, launched Milton to a 27-0 half-time lead.

Further converted tries from Charlie Jewiss, Julian Whittle and Nathan Smith inside 10 minutes of the second-half.

Tottonians dotted down a consolation try to complete the scoring.
