SWANAGE Town & Herston fought back to earn a point against Dorset Premier League rivals Bridport reserves.
After a goalless first half, four goals in a frantic 30-minute period resulted in a 2-2 draw at Day’s Park, with Tommy Beard and Joe Clark on target for Swans.
Beard, Charles Daries and Aaron Atkinson all went close for Swanage and Dan Beeston produced several good saves to keep Bridport out before the break.
However, seven minutes into the second half, Swans snatched the lead. Atkinson burst past two defenders and sent in a cross which striker Beard forced beyond visiting keeper Billy Fleet.
Bridport hit back just two minutes later when centre-back Dan Baggs headed home.
After missed chances at both ends, Josh Hunter fired home from close range to put the away side in front in the 72nd minute.
Swans rallied and responded quickly through Clark, who sent a looping shot towards goal which found the back of the net.
Charlie Dyke almost secured all three points for Swanage with a long-range effort but Fleet tipped the strike over the crossbar.
The point left Tim Brown’s men ninth in the table.
Elsewhere, a brace from Courtney Johnstone provided a consolation in Corfe Castle’s 4-2 reverse at Parley Sports.
Wareham Rangers suffered a 3-0 defeat against Shaftesbury Town reserves.
