SWANAGE & Wareham clinched the Dorset & Wilts One South title with a crushing 80-12 victory against Weymouth & Portland.

The Bestwall outfit ran in 12 tries and Steve Woolley kicked 10 conversions before the referee called time with 14 minutes to play – with the result allowed to stand.

Swans grabbed their first try inside four minutes when Kirk Jones powered over the line.

Five minutes later, Rory Fergusson added another on the break, with Woolley slotting the extras.

Centre Barnaby Knibb joined the party with a converted try before the visitors reduced the deficit with a score of their own.

Fergusson got his second converted try for the bonus point but Weymouth responded again to go 14 points behind.

However, two more converted tries from scrum-half Chris Tomes and Knibb opened a 40-12 half-time advantage.

In the first minute of the second period, Harry Spyers crossed the whitewash for a converted try and the floodgates remained open for the rest of the match.

Tomes dotted down his second converted try before Knibb completed his hat-trick. Spyers was hot on his heels with two more tries in quick succession.

On the hour mark, flanker Sam Turner touched down before the referee elected to abandon the game.
