BOURNEMOUTH head coach Will Croker is not getting swept up by promotion talk ahead of Saturday’s South West Premier visit of Exmouth.

Following last week’s bonus-point win at Exeter University, victory from this weekend’s Chapel Gate meeting with the league’s fifth-placed club could secure the title.

Despite having already beaten their opponents 30-13 away from home back in November, Croker refused to get carried away ahead of the occasion.

He said: “The club has been full of talk of what we need to do to gain promotion this week.

“I want to roll out the cliche about it being ‘just another game’ but the players and coaching team know this could be the week that we seal our fate and gain the points needed to go up.

“We have still got five games to go yet this season and there is a lot of rugby still to play, so to have the chance to do it this week is testament to the players for the continued application.

“Slip-ups have not really been allowed by this lot to date and I want to ensure that we push hard until the end of the season.”

Nearest rivals Barnstaple, who are 20 points behind Bournemouth, host third-place Ivybridge.
