WILL Croker wants to get in the faces of Exeter University when the South West Premier leaders travel to Devon looking to continue their promotion push.

When the sides last met at Chapel Gate in November, it saw the awful injury to versatile Lions playmaker Mike Haines, who had to be stretchered off with a dislocated ankle.

After seeing his side triumph 34-15 at home, Croker wants to seal the double over fifth-placed Exeter on Saturday and increase their 15-point lead at the summit.

He said: “This week we have the away fixture at Exeter University and it feels like quite a long time ago now that we played them.

“The home fixture had the tragic injury to Mike Haines, in it which obviously took the shine off of what was a very good win against them.

“This week we have been looking at the footage of how we have been playing and reading the write-ups of how they have been playing.

“We decided we wanted to pick a team which was confrontational, abrasive at the breakdown, will carry hard and will give us options in the wider channels as and when we are ready to move the ball there, which is the reason behind the selection.”
