DANNY Ford says he wants to provide a "fresh perspective" at Pirates after being drafted in by dad Matt.

Ford junior and Anthony Tilley, a director of Poole-based company Bespoke 4 Business, were last month named promoters at Wimborne Road.

Danny told the Daily Echo: “Everyone says me and my dad are quite similar. We are both quite strong-willed. No doubt I will be trying to get my point across at BSPA meetings!

“We get on fantastically and I respect him. He is the boss and has so much experience. I’m just there to learn at this stage and won’t be questioning anything he does!

“As I gain experience, hopefully, he will ask me what my ideas are and what I think we should do. That’s something which really appeals to me.

“When he bought the club 20 years ago, he came in with a fresh perspective and I want to do the same."

Poole claimed their eighth league title in 16 seasons in October, a remarkable achievement considering they had been bottom of the SGB Premiership at the start of July.

The Dorset club is to hold its press and practice on Thursday, April 4, the day after Poole travel to Somerset for a challenge meeting.
