TOBY Holmes continued his impressive scoring form as Wimborne Town ran away 3-0 winners at Tiverton.

The prolific marksman brought up 25 Southern League South goals for the campaign after striking twice in the second half at Ladysmead.

Curtis Young netted late on as Matty Holmes’s men extended to six games their unbeaten run and moved to 10th in the table.

Toby Holmes’s strikes brought him level with Weymouth’s Brandon Goodship at the top of the division’s goalscoring charts.

Speaking about his star frontman, the Wimborne boss told the Daily Echo: “He is a threat every week now. With the supply he has from Luke Burbidge, Luke Holmes and the rest of the lads, he is getting those lovely through balls.

“He has the bit between his teeth, he wants that golden boot and that’s what we’ve challenged him to do.

“Deservedly, he’s up there. His attitude is first-class and you can see the hunger in training and in games. He is a real force for us.”

Speaking about the win as a whole, the manager added: “In the end it could have been more than three.

"I was delighted with the performance away from home. We created loads of chances against a team like that, on their pitch. It was wonderful.”
