BOURNEMOUTH front rower Joe Tarrant says there is a target on their backs at the South West Premier summit.

Lions on Saturday welcome 10th-place Drybrook hoping to seal a league double, following a 27-14 bonus-point win last October.

Tarrant said: “It feels great to go into this week with another win on the road after we won 33-31 at Cleve last weekend.

“It is so hard to win away from home in this league – especially with everyone out to get our scalp – so we will be confident at home this week.

“I, personally, quite like the pressure of having a target on our backs – where everyone is out to beat us.”

Lions pushed 15 points clear of second-place Barnstaple following their title rivals’ 27-19 defeat at Drybrook.

Tarrant says the table will show his side are favourites for victory, which comes with added pressure.

He said: “It is a lot of pressure on us, whereas our opposition are the underdog.

“We have got to try to be composed and try to play our phases of rugby and get the results, no matter how tight it is.”

Drybrook have won their past three league fixtures.
