CHERRIES star Jordon Ibe is hoping to take his performances up a level after being handed his first Premier League start of 2019.

Ibe took his place in the starting XI for Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Liverpool and, little more than a minute in, set up Ryan Fraser for what proved Cherries’ best chance of the afternoon.

However, he relinquished possession in the build up to Liverpool’s second goal and was replaced by striker Dominic Solanke just before the hour.

Ibe told the Daily Echo: “I need to do much better. There is still time until the end of the season and a lot of games to come.

“As a team, we’ve had better times but we still have a chance to correct it.

“I thought we tried our best against Liverpool and tried to create chances but that is how the game goes sometimes.

“Playing against teams like this is difficult and if you get a chance you have to take it. But it didn’t happen.

“We have two weeks without a game now so it’s about trying to perfect things on the training pitch and being ready for the Wolves game.”
