DOUBLES for Steve Flynn and Dom Falco helped pave the way for Poppies to record a commanding 5-1 win over Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
River Smith was also on target at Victoria Park on Saturday as Michael Cuffie’s men edged closer to the Wessex Premier top three.
Hamworthy United are a place below Poppies in fifth after a 2-0 win at home to Alresford. Sean Wright and Sam Bayston were Hammers’ scorers.
Jake King’s goal proved enough for Lymington to beat Shaftesbury 1-0 at the Sports Ground, while Bashley lost 3-0 at Hamble Club.
Christchurch suffered a 2-0 reverse at Team Solent, leaving them 14th in the table.
In Wessex One, Lee Vint’s stoppage-time strike earned Ringwood a 2-1 home win over Petersfield.
Jamie Kemp converted 11 minutes from time to help turn the game on its head.
Ben Cooper’s penalty and a goal from Aidan Radford were not enough for New Milton as they came unstuck 5-2 at home to bottom side Andover Town.
Lymington tomorrow host Portland United in Wessex Premier while Bashley make the trip to Shaftesbury. Verwood Town visit Fawley in Wessex One on Wednesday (all 7.45pm).
