CHERRIES have no appetite to let Asmir Begovic leave Vitality Stadium - despite a report claiming Premier League clubs are “weighing up offers” for the goalkeeper.

The Daily Echo understands the Dorset club would not be willing to part with the stopper, despite The Sun saying they “could listen to offers before next week’s transfer deadline”.

The tabloid claimed interest had surfaced after the Bosnia international was replaced between the sticks by Artur Boruc for the 2-0 win against West Ham.

Before last Saturday’s game at Vitality Stadium, the 31-year-old had played in every Premier League game since he joined Cherries from Chelsea in 2017.

Eddie Howe praised Begovic’s response to being benched.

The Cherries boss said: “Asmir is the ultimate professional. He understood and very much supported Artur in his performance.

“You tweak other positions in the team without really thinking about it at great length but the goalkeeper is one which is always analysed greatly.

"I just felt Artur deserved to play. His form has been very good.”
