BOSS Shaun Cooper is eager for Cherries to bounce back as they bid for a place in the final of the Central League Cup.

The Dorset club’s under-21 squad, who were beaten 4-2 at Burnley in the Premier League Cup on Friday, tomorrow visit Shrewsbury Town (2pm).

Cooper told the club website: “We are looking for a positive reaction and energetic performance after our first defeat in a while.

“Shrewsbury don’t have an under-23 or under-21 set-up, so we know they will field a reserve team and are anticipating them to be strong.

“We are a young team so it will be a very good test.

“It was a disappointing result against Burnley and a slightly disappointing performance at times. We knew their style of play and knew what we needed to.

“We did okay but they counter-attacked from our mistakes. All the goals were preventable from our perspective and we didn’t quite create as much as we would have liked.”

Cooper’s charges progressed through their group to reach the last four after beating Southend and Portsmouth and drew against AFC Wimbledon.
