ASMIR Begovic is hoping Lady Luck will look more fondly on Cherries – as the Dorset club aim to arrest a disappointing run of results.

Cherries have lost 11 of their past 14 games and have slipped to 12th in the Premier League, the loss to Everton on Sunday seeing them concede their 17th goal in five outings.

Goalkeeper Begovic, who made his 250th Premier League appearance at Goodison Park, feels the bounces are not going the way of his team at present.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with West Ham (3pm), Begovic told the Daily Echo: “That game was very frustrating.

“A little bit of luck is what we need and what we have to keep working for. Hopefully, it will change in the coming games.

“Overall, we put in a good performance but lacked a bit of luck in both boxes. We will keep working hard, doing the right things and if we keep playing like we did last weekend, things are going to turn round very soon.

“That’s football, sometimes. You can not do an awful lot wrong but you need things to go your way a bit.

“We have strong characters and are still in an okay position, so we have to take advantage of that and pick up points in the next few games.

“We have to (keep our heads up). We try not to get too high when it’s going great and, when we are not getting the rub of the green, we try not to get too low.

“Everyone is staying positive. We will keep believing in each other and I’m sure the big results will come very soon.

“West Ham are always a good side and a tough test.

“We’ve had some good games against them in the past couple of years and it will be another big one on Saturday.”

Despite Cherries’ recent run, they are still five places higher than after the same amount of games last year – and six points better off.

Midfielder Dan Gosling is confident he and his team-mates can soon emerge from their difficult patch.

He said: “We want to move forward each season. We want to get a few more wins and get back up the table.

“It’s down to hard work, character and taking our chances.

“We had a great start and we’ve had a mid-season dip. I think most teams in and around us go through that.

“It’s a huge game against West Ham on Saturday and if we can win it, we are right back up there again.

“It’s been difficult but we’ll come out of this.

“I look at the fighting spirit we showed against Everton, the character of the boys. We did very well, to a man.

“On another day, Brooksy’s shot goes in and the game’s completely different. It’s very fine margins in this league.”
