GOALS from youngsters Frank Vincent and Corey Jordan proved in vain as Cherries were defeated in the Premier League Cup for the first time this season.
The Dorset club were beaten 4-2 at Burnley, who fielded England international Nick Pope in goal for the clash at Curzon Ashton.
The Clarets took the lead through Marley Blair on 10 minutes before Jordan levelled things up after the interval.
Vincent’s deflected strike then beat Pope after cannoning off a defender to put Cherries in the box seat.
But Blair notched his second to draw the hosts level.
Rob Harker and Bobby Thomas also netted to give the Lancashire outfit all three points in Group C.
Shaun Cooper's men can still qualify for the last-16 in their final two fixtures against Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion.
