BOSS Will Croker admitted he was excited by the pressure on Bournemouth to win South West Premier and insisted: “It’s the reason I do the job.”

A run of 15 wins from 16 games has put Lions in the box seat to claim the title and earn promotion back to National Two South.

With a 12-point advantage at the summit, Bournemouth on Saturday head to Brixham for the first of a pivotal 10-game run-in.

Asked what it had been like to deal with the expectation of topping the pile, head coach Croker told the Daily Echo: “For me personally, I find it incredibly exciting. It’s the reason I do the job.

“I would never want to be at a club that just said ‘we want to consolidate in this league and stay where we are’.

“I do it because I want to work with people who are aspirational. I have a very aspirational coaching team who are a great bunch.

“The club commercially are driving us forward. Our sponsors want to see us get promoted and do well and we have come together with this common vision.

“We have a group of players who are thriving on the pressure and it’s just so exciting.”
