MATTY Holmes says there is no added pressure on Wimborne to earn victory at struggling Staines Town.

Magpies on Saturday head to Wheatsheaf Park to take on a Swans outfit cut adrift at the bottom of Southern League South (3pm).

One of four sides transferred from Isthmian Premier last season, the hosts have just nine points from their opening 26 league games and have conceded a staggering 76 times.

Wimborne have won once on the road since their promotion to step three and only Staines have a worse away record.

Holmes told the Daily Echo: “We just go into each game as we can and any away win is a bonus. That’s what we are concentrating on, there is no pressure on the lads at all.

“Our away form has not been brilliant so we have to go there and get a positive result. That’s key for us now moving on.”

James Stokoe’s winner earned Wimborne a 1-0 victory when the sides met at KoolPak Stadium in November.

“Staines played very well at our place but they have much changed now. We are just concentrating on looking at them for Saturday and it will be a tough game,” added Holmes.
