TOM Killick saw Poole Town seal a 2-0 victory at Tiverton before declaring: “That result had been coming for a while.”

James Constable emphatically fired home with the final kick of the first half before teeing up Luke Roberts early in the second to send Poole ninth in Southern League South, writes Jack Tanner.

Victory came after discontent had been brewing at Black Gold Stadium, as Dolphins’ play-off hopes had been hit by a run of six games without a win.

But Killick was pleased to see his side gain three points after a positive display in north Devon.

He told the Daily Echo: “It was as comfortable as it could be when were on the run we were on. I think until we actually heard the final whistle blown, we didn’t take anything for granted.

“We just converted our chances and had no lapses in concentration.

“That result had been coming for a while but a lot of people had looked at results and jumped to conclusions.

“I just feel people have been dismissive in terms of our performances in recent weeks, which is easy for people to do when they look at results.

“I had felt positive about our recent performances and that continued on Saturday. I felt we got the result we deserved.”
