WILL Croker demanded a ruthless streak from Bournemouth despite their dominance during the first half of the South West Premier season.
Lions are seven points clear at the top of the table and on Saturday return to action against Weston-super-Mare at Chapel Gate (2pm).
Boss Croker described as "half done" the promotion bid but admitted the coaching team had already started planning for life in National League Two South.
He told the Daily Echo: "We have to prepare because if we leave it until the end of the season, we are putting enormous pressure on ourselves.
"Defensively, we never rest on our laurels and our strike-zone conversion could be improved.
"We will take the positives of being top but we must focus on making ourselves more dynamic and preventing the opposition from having a sniff in the game."
Croker hoped to have a fully-fit squad to choose from for the Weston clash.
"The gap between matches is a double-edged sword," said Croker. "On one hand, you have the flow of just one loss from a run of games against top-six sides other than Newton Abbot.
"On the other, it is an attritional sport. We had a few niggles and strains, so it was good to give the players an opportunity to rest."
