BOSS Tom Killick admitted his Poole Town squad had grown "a little too big" – and said further action could be taken to address the situation.

Experienced midfielder Carl Pettefer joined Wimborne Town after being released from his Dolphins contract at the weekend.

Killick told the Daily Echo: "Realistically, the squad is a little too big. We need to reduce it a little.

"I would not expect any additions but you never say never. If opportunities arise which we think are going to improve us and are financially viable, we will always look.

"I think it will be the other way, where we have to reduce the squad by one or two over the next few weeks.

“But that is not something I am looking to do with the run of games over Christmas."

Poole host Southern League South rivals Tiverton Town at Black Gold Stadium tomorrow (7.45pm).

Tiverton have failed to win any of their past seven matches but Killick warned they must be respected.

"They are a side I have heard good things about," said Killick. "They have not had a particularly good run of results but they have good players in their squad.

"This is one of our games in hand and we have start turning them into points."
