BOSS Eddie Howe revealed Tyrone Mings was "in a lot of pain" after sustaining a back injury during today's 2-0 defeat to Wolves.
The former Chippenham star was taken off after 36 minutes at Molineux and replaced by Diego Rico.
Giving an update on Mings's injury, Howe said: “I think he was in a lot of pain at half-time.
"I haven’t spoken to him directly but I think it’s a knock in his back.
"Hopefully it’s nothing too serious."
Defender Mings played just five times last season, mainly due to a stress fracture in his spine.
He was referred for treatment at Aspetar, a world-renowned orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital based in the Qatari capital of Doha.
“He has missed a lot of football through injury and the last thing he wanted to do was come off," added the Cherries boss.
"Looking at him quite quickly, there was no way he could continue."
