EDDIE Howe backed Cherries stalwart Steve Cook to bounce back from his performance against Liverpool.

Cook faced a difficult test against Mohamed Salah last weekend in the 4-0 defeat at Vitality Stadium.

The 27-year-old defender scored an unfortunate own-goal in the second half and was given a torrid time by the Egyptian throughout the match.

However, boss Howe said Cook must not let the performance linger over him for tomorrow's game with Wolves.

"I have seen a reaction from all of the squad, which has been positive," said Howe.

"We want to go out and get a result to put the Liverpool game to bed. The only way to do that is to perform to our best levels again. "Steve Cook is a valued member of the squad. He has been excellent this season.

"As an individual player you are always going to assess your own game and analyse yourself, which is the right thing do to, but you cannot carry it forward into future matches. I am sure he will be fine."
