MATTY Holmes confessed the next few weeks could determine Wimborne Town's first season in Southern League South.

Magpies sit 18th and one point above the relegation zone ahead of seven games in 22 days.

The hectic run of fixtures begins tomorrow against fourth-placed Metropolitan Police at KoolPak Stadium (3pm). Manager Holmes described as a "huge couple of weeks" Wimborne's upcoming run.

"Three points in matches is more important than anything at the moment and the use of our squad is going to be huge," said Holmes.

"It is a testing time and it is about managing each game without looking too far ahead.

"We know the Christmas period will determine what is going to happen over the rest of the season with some huge games against teams around us."

Wimborne have almost a full squad to choose from, with only Jack Lovell and Scott Arnold ruled out through injury. Holmes expected a difficult match against a side who have not lost in the league since September.

He said: "They had a great run to the first round of the FA Cup where they lost to Newport.

"It is going to be a really tough game and we need to show our mettle."
