CHERRIES star Callum Wilson is reportedly “being tracked” by Premier League big guns Chelsea.

The 26-year-old striker has been in terrific form this season, scoring seven goals in 13 appearances and setting up four more.

And The Mirror reports Chelsea “have stepped up their scouting of Wilson and are having him watched on a regular basis between now and the end of the year”.

The tabloid states the Blues “could firm up their interest as early as January” if the former Coventry City hotshot continues to impress.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud as his main striker options, with the former having scored five in his past six appearances.

Wilson, who bagged his 50th goal for Cherries in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday, is contracted to the Dorset club until 2022 having signed a new deal in July.

No Englishman has contributed to more goals than Wilson this season.

The frontman has been tipped to be included in the England squad due to be named by Gareth Southgate tomorrow.

Meanwhile, The Sun reports Eddie Howe is “eyeing a move” for Manchester City forward Lukas Nmecha, who is on a season-long loan at Preston.

The Cherries boss has been “keeping tabs” on the 19-year-old, according to the tabloid, with the youngster “seen as the type of player who would thrive in Howe’s system”.

Hamburg-born Nmecha is yet to score in 14 appearances for Preston this season but has nonetheless impressed for the Championship strugglers.

Alongside Cherries midfielder Lewis Cook, he helped England under-21s win the Maurice Revello Tournament in June.
