DETERMINED David Brooks will put to one side his Manchester United fandom when they tomorrow visit Cherries, according to boss Eddie Howe.

The 21-year-old revealed he was a big supporter of the Red Devils despite coming through the youth ranks at Manchester City.

Brooks has made an impressive beginning to life in the top flight since signing for Cherries from Sheffield United in July, scoring three times in nine league games.

Boss Howe told the Daily Echo: “David has made such a good start mentally to his career here that I see no signs of any type of childhood fan who wouldn’t be able to perform.

“He seems like he is just focused on his football and wants to perform at his very highest level for us, regardless of who it’s against.

“I think when you get to this level and you are competing for points. Any attachment you have to previous clubs definitely gets put to the side.

“I’m just speaking from my own experiences. You have to be very professional and treat it like any other opponent.

“Afterwards you might reflect and analyse the situation but, in the moment, you just have to concentrate on the football.”
