EDDIE Howe admits Joshua King is “disappointed” to miss tomorrow’s home clash with former club Manchester United (12.30pm).

The Norwegian frontman continues to nurse an ankle problem picked up last month on international duty.

He started Cherries’ goalless draw with Southampton but has since been ruled out of games against Fulham and Norwich.

King, who came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, featured for the Red Devils in the Champions League and League Cup with substitute appearances against Galatasaray and Wolves.

Insisting the injury would not be long term, Howe said: “Joshua will be out. He’s not going to be ready.

“Any player doesn’t want to miss out on these games, especially when you have an association with the club. He is disappointed but is focusing on his recovery.”

Skipper Simon Francis will also be assessed ahead of the game after feeling tightness in his groin against the Canaries on Tuesday.

He was replaced by Jack Simpson after 86 minutes as a precaution.

“He has had a scan on the injury and it’s not a pull, we are quietly confident he will make the game. We need to make a late decision,” said Howe.
