WIMBORNE ran in six tries to record a 36-20 victory at South West One East rivals Salisbury.

The result earned the Minstermen their third win of the campaign from eight league games.

Despite falling behind to an early try, Wimborne countered quickly and fashioned two well-executed scores within the next 10 minutes.

Steve King broke from well within his own half and some excellent passing saw Ben Hunt find Jack Young in support, who outstripped the home defence to cross.

Lewis Munster then managed a deft flicked pass out of contact to set up Josh Booth for a run in under the posts. Munster converted both scores to open up a 14-5 lead.

A successful Salisbury penalty attempt followed by a slick move to set up a converted try then put Wimborne on the back foot as they entered the second half a point down.

Two sin-bins saw the visitors play almost 20 minutes of the second half with 14 men but Wimborne raised their game.

Jack Mason broke through within three minutes of the restart with Ryan Morrell on hand to take the try-scoring pass. Five minutes later Mason went over himself to touch down.

Despite Salisbury hitting back with once more, Wimborne found another gear.

Robbie Holman drove over with 10 minutes left before Mason added his second.
