TREVOR Parker breathed a huge sigh of relief after his New Milton side hit two late goals to beat Ringwood.

It was the Fawcett's Field outfit's first Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division victory of the season.

New Milton leapfrogged above Ringwood near the bottom of the table.

But the last-gasp defeat must have been the last straw for hard working Ringwood manager Bob Lane as they conceded two late goals to lose like that for the second game in a row.

Parker, whose side won with goals in the last 15 minutes from Dave Ewen and Keith Chengadu, said: "I felt sorry for Ringwood.

"They worked their socks off, and what happened to them tonight has happened to us on many occasions."

Parker added: "They get nothing for their efforts.

"I know we deserved it on the balance of play, but if they are one of the worst sides in this league we are going to have a hard season."

It was a case of déjà vu as Ringwood held a 1-0 lead with about 75 minutes to go.

They had been 2-1 in front of Horndean at home with the minutes ticking away before ending up 3-2 losers on Saturday.

Last night Ewen equalised with a 25-yard lob over Ringwood's goalkeeper after being put through by Ashley Booker.

Then, just as it looked as though the points would be shared, central defender Chengadu came up from the back for New Milton and netted the winner.
