CANFORD School old boy Felix Organ has been awarded a new contract by Hampshire Cricket.

Organ and Ryan Stevenson have both committed to deals that will see them remain at the Ageas Bowl at least until the end of the 2020 season.

Organ enjoyed an impressive 2018 campaign for Hampshire seconds, with the right-handed youth system product totalling 862 runs in all competitions, averaging 49.91 in Championship matches and 54.67 in Trophy fixtures.

The top-order batsman, 19, also topped the list of run-getters in this year’s Southern Premier League as part of the Hampshire Academy side, scoring 843 runs at an average of 56.20 in 18 games.

Hampshire director of cricket Giles White said: “Felix is an exciting prospect and he also had a strong season for the second XI, as well as the Academy side, making valuable contributions with the bat throughout this season.

"It’s been great to see both players progress this season and these extensions gives them an opportunity to continue to develop their games here with us over the next couple of years.

“Ryan’s attitude to rehab over the last couple of years has been outstanding and he impressed on his return to the squad this year, bowling well and with good pace during our T20 campaign and as part of the second XI."
