POOLE Town boss Tom Killick urged his squad to use their FA Cup heartbreak as a motivator for future success.

Dolphins missed out on the chance to progress to the first round proper of the famous competition after succumbing to a 2-1 loss at Isthmian Premier Haringey Borough last time out.

Haringey have since been drawn at home to League One AFC Wimbledon.

But Killick insisted Saturday’s FA Trophy first qualifying round contest at home to Frome Town (3pm) provided the perfect platform to bounce back.

He told the Daily Echo: “We have to use the disappointment as a real spur to push us on. We will try to do that starting on Saturday.

“I think it would be a good way to try to temper the disappointment of the FA Cup and there are financial incentives again with more than £3,000.”

Poole are expected to have skipper Jamie Whisken and Marvin Brooks back from suspension.

Luke Roberts has been nursing a toe injury having been forced off after just 20 minutes on Saturday.

Frome go into the clash having lost four of their past five games in all competitions. The Robins are 16th in Southern League South.
