TWO Dorset teams achieved seventh places in the South of England Cross-Country relays at Wormwood Scrubs, reports Nigel Harding.
Wimborne AC’s trio of Holly Nixon, Madeleine Johnson and Maddy Herbert exceeded expectations in the under-17 women’s competition, while William Rabjohns ran the fastest under-13 boys’ leg of the day, anchoring Poole AC’s George Mahon and Leo Riggs.
Rabjohns followed up with his second Wessex Cross-Country League win of the season.
Bournemouth AC’s Laszlo Toth finished men’s runner-up and leading senior behind Wells City under-20 Ben Lloyd in the meeting in Lytchett Minster.
Poole Runners' Bill Day was third and leading over-40, while BAC’s Brandon Meredith was sixth overall and second under-20.
Wimborne under-20 Araminta Stubbs, who won her age group as runner-up in the women’s race, was chased home by BAC veterans Nikki Sandell and Julia Austin.
Wimborne’s Holly Nixon was second in the under-17 women, with Poole AC’s Demi-Marie Goddard third. Nathaniel Willmore was third in the under-17 men for Poole Runners.
Jasper Todd of Bournemouth AC was under-15 boys’ runner-up, chased in by Poole AC’s Josh Smith. BAC’s Amelia Reynolds was third, with Poole AC’s Isobel Rabjohns, fourth, among the under-15 girls.
In the under-13 girls’ event, Neve East of Bournemouth was second and Iris Courtney of Wimborne, fourth.
